Our History
Founded in 1977 by Abe Hochstetler, Specialty Pallet & Design Ltd. started as Eastwood Framing, Inc., a producer of bed frames and box springs. Within a few years, Eastwood also began to produce pallets, since it required similar machinery. In 2002, Abe’s son, Marty Hochstetler, purchased and incorporated the pallet portion of the business under the name Specialty Pallet & Design. Specialty Pallet has grown in large part because it developed a niche market that separates it from the competitive commodity pallet business by manufacturing specialty pallets, lumber, and crates, in addition to standard wooden pallets.
2012 marked a change in ownership for Specialty Pallet. The transition was seamless because of the strength of the company, mutal respect of the former and current owners, and the retention of the management team and staff.
The combination of the ongoing commitment to the Hochstetler tradition of excellence, combined with the experience and advanced technical capabilites of the new ownership team, paves the way for continued success.
